1911 – For 17 years, the Alpha Lambda Chapter labored as the only chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity in the state of Kentucky. When the hour had passed, the time had finally come for Brothers to extend the vision of the Seven Great Jewels beyond the city of Louisville. Alpha Lambda members wasted no time in aiding the General Organization and providing assistance for the development of chapters across the district. It can be said that Alpha Lambda is the “Mother Chapter” of the district of Kentucky and has given birth to several offspring.
